April is national poetry month in the USA and while I do follow along with my local library's daily selection, this year instead of writing my own poetry or sharing a classic of another, I am sharing my picks for songs, well lyrics of a song, that I consider pure poetry.

Huh, I haven't been in a few months so Ive had my gold status yanked again. Probably didn't renew my icebreaker which I believe is done in February so excuse a moment whilst I go click YES My Account without changing a damn thing.

Ahhhh that's better. Now I'll be in limited use mode for 3 days while auto scans reject the unchanged info that has existed this profile for over a decade. YAY!

Digression over

It's April fools day today, which I generally don't celebrate or perpetuate cuz it's just plain silly to live to trick others one day a year. Either you're a prankster full time or you aren't. I'm not a prankster but I do embrace silly, absurd and ridiculousness as a way of life, so since most of the country is in lock-down I've been referring to it as house arrest and telling people that they need to shop for bracelets(wrist & ankle) for me with their abundant free time. It's a way to support local business online that are loosing money during social distancing. No ones buying it so far.

ANYWAY, April is national poetry month in the USA and like the past few years, I do follow along with my local library's daily selections, but this year, instead of making my own poetry of emotion, I am seeking and pointing out poetry in motion.

We all have them don't we? Those poems or songs that roll over you like a tidal wave, making you close your eyes, open your ears, throw your head back and tune out the world as the tune itself drowns you in feeling!

If you feel like being swept away or sweeping me away, please join in and share your ocean of emotion in motion as well. Ive already got about 10 on deck off the top of my head but '30 days hath Sept, April, June and.......' so help is appreciated. And will probably be required

30 days in 30 ways: Songs that I consider pure poetry

Once I thought I saw you
in a crowded hazy bar,
dancing on the light
from star to star.
Far across the moonbeam
I know that's who you are,
I saw your brown eyes
turning once to fire.

[CHORUS]
You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eye.
And I'm gettin' blown away
To somewhere safer
where the feeling stays.
I wanna love ya but
I'm getting blown away.

I am just a dreamer,
but you are just a dream,
You could have been
anyone to me.
Before that moment
you touched my lips
That perfect feeling
when time just slips
Away between us
on our foggy trip.

CHORUS

You are just a dreamer,
and I am just a dream.
You could have been
anyone to me.
Before that moment
you touched my lips
That perfect feeling
when time just slips
Away between us
on our foggy trip.

CHORUS

Neil Young "Like A Hurricane"

Gratitude is the inward feeling of kindness received.
Thankfulness is the natural impulse express that feeling.
Thanksgiving is the following of that impulse.

“What are you most thankful for?” she asked.
reply came easily. “Being too blessed to have any hope of answering that question.”
